PonoLens guide

How freelancers can use AI without mixing customer information

Freelancers often move between projects quickly. A few habits can reduce accidental mix-ups.

Use a separate folder for each customer

Keep each customer’s code, notes, and files in its own project folder. Open only the project needed for the current task.

Start a fresh AI session

Do not reuse a long conversation from another customer. Begin a new session and check the project name before attaching or opening files.

Remove identifying details

Replace real names, email addresses, account numbers, and private business details with simple examples. Never include passwords, API keys, or access tokens.

Review before and after

Read the prompt before sending it. After the task, use PonoLens to review the prompt and reported commands and file changes. Export a redacted record when a customer or manager needs evidence of the work.

Ask before using customer information. Follow the customer’s contract, AI policy, and approved tools. PonoLens supports that workflow but does not give permission or establish compliance.

Use a short closing checklist

  • Did I use the correct customer folder?
  • Did I start a clean session?
  • Did I remove private details and secrets?
  • Did I review the files and commands?
  • Did I save the evidence the customer requires?
