Agreement
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Holmgren Studio, LLC. By creating an account, purchasing access, downloading PonoLens, or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use PonoLens.
Who may use PonoLens
You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use PonoLens for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organization. You are responsible for complying with the rules that apply to your data, workplace, customers, and AI tools.
What PonoLens does
PonoLens is a privacy visibility and enforcement prototype for supported AI coding tools. It can record evidence exposed by supported connections, identify configured sensitive information, and provide warnings. Some experimental connections may redact or block an action before submission.
PonoLens cannot see activity a third-party tool does not expose. Report Only does not stop an action. Codex side-chat prompts are observed after submission and cannot be stopped by PonoLens. A warning, block, or lack of warning does not prove that information was or was not transmitted. PonoLens supports privacy and compliance workflows but does not itself establish compliance.
Beta and experimental features
PonoLens may include beta, preview, or experimental features. They may be incomplete, change, stop working, or produce incorrect or missing results. Redact and Block modes depend on third-party hook behavior and are experimental. Do not rely on PonoLens as your only security, privacy, backup, legal, or compliance control.
Your account
You must provide accurate account information, protect your password and devices, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may limit the number of active devices. You may not share credentials in a way that bypasses a plan or device limit.
A business organization has exactly one Owner. The Owner may appoint Admins. Owners and Admins may invite, suspend, reactivate, and remove Members, but Admins cannot manage the Owner or other Admins. Only the Owner may appoint or remove an Admin. Organization administrators must invite only people they are authorized to manage and must keep membership information current. Ownership changes require a verified support request and are not available as a self-service action.
Administrative membership actions are recorded to protect the organization and resolve account disputes. A removed or suspended person may retain local data already stored on a computer; removing website membership does not remotely erase that computer.
Trials, subscriptions, and legacy lifetime access
Current prices and trial terms are shown before purchase. Recurring subscriptions renew until canceled. You can cancel through the Stripe billing portal; cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid billing period unless applicable law requires otherwise. Refund eligibility and instructions are described in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
Family / Small Business and Medium Company subscriptions belong to the purchasing Owner’s organization. The advertised account limit includes the Owner. Each active organization member receives access while the organization subscription remains entitled and may use up to two registered Macs. Suspended and removed members lose the organization’s access. Only the Owner can manage the organization’s Stripe subscription.
Personal Annual is currently offered at $11.99 per year for the PonoLens Personal offering. If a subscription is canceled, expires, or lapses, a later subscription may use the price offered at that time. Taxes and optional services may be charged separately.
Lifetime purchases are not currently offered. A previously completed lifetime purchase provides access to the purchased PonoLens Personal offering for the lifetime of that offering, subject to these terms. It is not tied to the purchaser’s lifespan and does not guarantee that every feature, third-party integration, hosted service, update, or support channel will exist forever. Taxes may apply.
License and ownership
PonoLens is proprietary software owned by Holmgren Studio, LLC and its licensors. Subject to these terms and your applicable plan, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use PonoLens Personal for its intended purpose. No ownership rights are transferred to you.
You may not copy, sell, sublicense, redistribute, rent, bypass access controls, misuse the service, or reverse engineer PonoLens except where applicable law expressly permits an activity that cannot be restricted by contract.
Acceptable use
Do not use PonoLens to break the law, harm another person, gain unauthorized access, distribute malware, interfere with the service, overload an endpoint, probe another customer’s data, or submit content you do not have the right to use. Do not use PonoLens as a substitute for required professional judgment or human review.
Your content and support submissions
You keep ownership of content you provide. You give us permission to host, process, and display account and support content only as needed to provide, protect, and improve the requested service. Do not place unnecessary secrets or third-party personal information in a support ticket or screenshot.
Third-party services
PonoLens works with services such as Firebase, Stripe, macOS, and supported AI coding tools. Those services have separate terms and may change their products or interfaces. We are not responsible for a third-party service’s independent operation, content, availability, or data practices.
Updates and changes
We may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. Manual installation may be required to receive an update. We may modify pricing or plan terms prospectively with notice required by law; changes do not retroactively alter a completed one-time purchase.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using PonoLens at any time. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, comply with law, address nonpayment, or respond to a material violation of these terms. Provisions that logically continue after termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and limits of liability—remain in effect.
No warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PonoLens is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted operation, complete detection, compatibility with every tool version, prevention of every disclosure, or a particular legal or business result. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
Limits of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Holmgren Studio, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from PonoLens. Our total liability for claims relating to PonoLens will not exceed the amount you paid us for PonoLens during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as PonoLens changes. We will post the revised terms and update the effective date. If a material change requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it as required by law. Continued use after the revised terms take effect means you accept them.
